Haiti Property Law Working Group News
The Haiti Property Law Working Group continues to promote property law rights in Haiti.
During the week of June 14, 2016, the Group implemented four training sessions in Cap-Haitian and surrounding areas to introduce participants to property law principles and concepts; raise awareness of land issues; discuss the institutional framework of land transactions in Haiti; and provide legal references related to the legal procedures for buying and selling land.
In Cap-Haitian, the #HaitiPropertyLawWorkingGroup #HPLWG reached more than 1,000 people, including 335 women, through its awareness campaigns. Check out the latest story.
In 2016, the Haiti Property Law Working Group was hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank to convene its bimestrial meetings on March 31 and June 2. The Group discussed its overall initiatives and results to date; its strategy to raise visibility across Haiti; and its recommendations to the Government of Haiti to support the institutional application of the Group’s findings contained in both manuals.
